Before we get into this week’s trio of wanna eats, we’ve gotta choose the 6 month competition winner from last week’s edition.
Thanks so many of you for entering, and taking the time to shout out which restaurant you’d want to use the voucher. I genuinely get really excited about all these places I want to go, so I love to see that in others too.
So without further ado…the winner is…

Congrats April! I’ll be in contact via Instagram for your prize.
1. Flour and Grape, Bermondsey
By the time this goes live, I hopefully would have ticked Flour and Grape off the list.
I’ve heard very good things about their pasta - and their latest social posts about delicious new autumnal additions to the menu had me going “let’s go.”

It’s also my Mum’s birthday. She’s veggie, doesn’t like spicy food, and Italian just felt like a good choice. They also provide gluten free pasta on request, with many of the dishes made safe to eat, and dogs are allowed upstairs too. Tick, tick, tick.
Nestled on Bermondsey Street (I love this corner of London, it just doesn’t feel like London, but it does), newbies to the menu include Ricotta & Pumpkin Ravioli and the Preserved Truffle Taglierini.

Flour & Grape work on a walk ins only basis, but you can pop your name down and go for a drink should there be a wait. And to help pass the time, you can stare lovingly at them making pasta in the window.
2. Raymond’s, Nottingham
I’ve only been to Nottingham once for a night out, but the newly opened Raymond’s might have me coming back again, asap.
The interiors, that play with big windows and smokey maroon tiles, are home to wine and small plates - which I’d say are very reasonably priced.

Garum Caramel Fried Chicken has to be the menu standout for me (above right), and the adoring Insta comments don’t hold back. Look out for specials too, like BBQ lamb belly with spent lemon salsa verde (below right). Salivating rn.

Wine is also their thing, so expect a heafty list to go through, with a glass for as little as £4.50. Also love their alcohol free offering, which includes Clear Head - a gluten free, alcohol free IPA. Perfect for my Sober October stint.

3. Rita, Aro Valley, Wellington
Counting down less than three weeks ‘til our NZ trip, and I’m kinda regretting not putting Wellington on our destinations list.
I just had to accept we couldn’t do it all - and having been to Wellington before, I can confirm the food scene is great. Yep, now editing this back… I am kicking myself. I wanna go to Rita.

I came across the gem after obsessing over Pippa (from @eatinburgh’s) trip to NZ in recent months and she has done a seriously extensive Insta food guide. This gal knows her stuff.
And one spot in particular that caught my eye was Rita - just outside of Wellington in Aro Valley.
Set in a residential street, they run a three-course set menu that changes every day and you have to roll with it.

Last night the menu was Raw Trevally with Sorrel Buttermilk, Radish and Dill, followed by Organic Beef Short Rib, Oyster Mushroom and Asparagus. Then for the finale it was Seville Orange Profiteroles with Almond Praline, and Chocolate. Divine.
I really love the concept of the surprise, and if gluten wasn’t an issue, I would be absolutely signing up to dinner’s like this in a heartbeat. If you’ve ever in this corner of the world, please go and try it for me.
