Every inch of me is hanging onto summer. Rooftops, alfresco dinners, picnic lunches.
But you can still do all of the above in a jacket, so I’m not heartbroken just yet.
Speaking of, I got to try the newly opened rooftop at Broadwick Soho. The swankiest glass of wine you will ever have (unless you go for cocktails and then prepare to take out a second mortgage).
Even when you’re inside you still feel like you’re on a roof, but with the most flamboyant interiors.
Definitely go for a treat and just lose yourself in a different world for a second. Some photos from my visit here.
Onto the places I’m yet to try…
1. Tamila, Clapham
You may have heard of the famous Tamil Prince and The Tamil Crown - two North London pubs with Indian restaurants, where you can secure a pint and a much loved curry.
What began as executive chef King Prince Durairaj (below) teaming up with and Glen Leeson, resulted in the duo securing a yet another venue, but this time south of the river… South Londoners rejoice!

Their latest, Tamila, is set to open October 1st, on Northcote Road in Clapham. And if the menu is anything like its two sister restaurants - you’re gonna bet this is gonna blow your socks off.
Their offerings have been quoted as “the best Indian in London”, so obviously Tamila has a lot to live up to.

I’m hoping for similar small plates, like the Prince’s Special Masala Dosa and large plates like a half a rack of Robata Lamb Chops. Maybe even breakfast like The Tamil Prince (above right)?! Move over Dishoom.
I cannot wait to get down there and try - and if you want to do the same, tables are booking up fast.

2. Matsudai Ramen, Cardiff
Slurping a bowl of ramen is one of life’s simple pleasures. With this change in season and slight chill in the air, nothing beats engulfing the goodness of a bowl.
Packed with flavour and nutrients you can see why this is a Japanese staple.

This week, we travel to Cardiff (not physically ofc, sadly I’ve never been) to find Matsudai Ramen. A favourite of Jay Rayner, and city hotspot.
Owner James Chant has had an interesting ride, starting with pop ups, cleverly moving to ramen kits in lockdown, before securing a permanent restaurant in 2022.

Serving glossy ramens with golden chicken, pork belly and seafood, there’s plenty of options, with clearly marked veggie and vegan dishes too
Naturally, to start, I’ve got my eye on the Tsukemono - a pickle plate. Perfect.

3. Le Bistrot Paul Bert, Paris
I’ve been craving a trip to Paris. It’s probably one of my most visited cities. The river, the architecture, the art and culture, makes it an ideal spot for a weekend away.
And of course the food. Don’t get me started on the food.

Nothing beats sipping red wine at midday tucking into something delicious, with plans to simple mooch about the city.
But I’ve yet to try Le Bistrot Paul Bert - a classic French Bistro, with traditional beef dishes and seafood, and plenty of outdoor seating for people watching. One of my favourite Parisian past times.
Everything is in French (but I kind of like that), so be prepared to whip out the GCSE knowledge, and every dish served on beautifully designed branded plates. I really enjoy it.

For those who reaaaaally love the branding, they even sell merch. From caps, to branded glasses and sweatshirts.
News on the street is there’s discounts on the Eurostar.. who fancies it?!

Every week I’ll be tempting you with where your next meal out could be - one in London, one in the UK, and one beyond. All places I want to try, but haven’t yet.
I would love for you to subscribe (button below), so we can enjoy these places together. And if you have got any tips of your own, I’d love to hear them.
Bistro PB is a goodie! Excited to try Tamil, looks delicious!
