I love the intimacy of a supper club. The connection to the chef and host, the making new friends, to the discussion around my favourite topic - food.
I really don’t go to enough of them. So this week, I give you…a supper club special.
Three spots, with upcoming dates. They are all in London - so apols for those who live further afield, but they might just be worth the trip.
1. Sophie Wyburd x Mother Superior, Nunhead

What: Tucking In, with Sophie Wyburd
When: August 28th. 6:30/8:30pm.
Where: Mother Superior, Nunhead
Cost: £55 pp
Yessss to Sophie. I have saved SO MANY of her recipes. Sophie oozes “I wanna be your friend” vibes, serving up beautifully fresh dishes on Insta and Substack, and manages to make it all look so easy.
Some of you may know Sophie from MOB, but this fabulous chef and recently has launched her own cook book - Tucking In - which looks absolutely stunning. That reminds me, *adds to basket*.
And the cherry on top…she’s doing a supper club.

For my fellow South East London locals, you’ll be chuffed to learn it’s at Mother Superior - a cracking natural wine shop and bar in Nunhead.
On the menu, you’ll find Crispy Artichokes with Feta and Olive Dip + Bloody Mary Prawn Cocktail Cups + Tomato and Grapefruit Salad, all to start.
Then for main it’s Garlicky Roast Chicken, served with New Potatoes with Marmite and Chives... followed up with Anchovy and Courgette Salad. Bliss.
For dessert, Chocolate Cherry Meringue Pots, and no doubt, a ton of lovely wine from Mother Superior.
Sadly it’s a no to dietary requirements this time, which means I can’t grab a ticket, but hopefully you’ll know someone who will, as it looks to be a banger.
Sign up for tickets via Sophie’s newsletter here.
2. Supper Club Community x Willow’s, Clapham

What: Summer Feast
When: August 8th
Where: Willow’s Clapham
Cost: TBC*
I stumbled across these guys through an Instagram ad, with a concept of making new friends across the city, over a good meal at an independent restaurant. Love it.
Next up, in August, they’re hosting their “Summer Feast” at Willow’s Clapham, a local independent spot co-founded by two high-school best friends Billy and Becky. With Chef Katie at the helm, their focus is “Scandinavian smorgasbords”, with a one-off menu for the supper club.

The menu is designed to be shared, and is naturally gluten free (hello!) and vegan, focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Expect Tomato and Strawberry Gazpacho Canapés to start, followed by a Lemon Hummus & Crudités + Feta, Herbs, Seasonal Greens, Filo Pastry + Broad Beans with Chilli, Nectarine & Fennel + Courgette, Tarragon Oil, Lemon Cream and Hazelnut Salad.

To finish, it’s Gooseberry Fool, with Apricot, Jasmine and Olive Oil.
Lush & fresh.
Go with friends, or on your own. If it’s anything like their Instagram, it looks like a vibe. They’ve even launched a supper club app.
Book here, via their app, and explore more London (and Bristol) supper clubs from the community.
*I’m waiting to be accepted on the community app, so unable to check prices.
3. Mûr London x Next Location TBD

What: Goodbye Summer Supper Club
When: 31 Aug, 19:00 – 23:00
Location: TBD
Cost: TBD (Previous supper clubs have cost around £65pp)
By the looks of the evidence online, Mûr London did a cracking French Supper Club just a few weeks back. Gutted to have missed it.
Founded by two chefs Olivia Cooper & James Holdsworth, these guys are worth a follow on their own for their incredible dishes. Olivia spent time cheffing in Paris and James focuses on seasonal cooking.

Their next supper club is set for August 31st, with a "Goodbye to Summer" special - a big blowout before the season comes to an end. They’re working on the location and the menu, but the tickets are live now.

Expect a similar offering of welcome drinks, starter/s, main, dessert, all seasonally curated, and some with surprise collabs and guest chefs.
Previous locations have included; Lucky Bean and Zara’s Kitchen - both Ladbroke Grove, Pique Cafe - Lavender Hill, and Grey’s Inn Kitchen - Dalston.
These will be sure to sell out, so if you like the look of Mûr, get your seat secured, and send summer off with a solid meal.
Buy tickets here.
And finally, a couple more extra shout outs.
Checkout Boundary, who have hosted brilliant supper clubs with chefs including Joseph Denison Carey, Crystelle Pereira and Rosie Mackean. Keep an eye on their Insta for updates.

And for the single guys and gals out there, new kid on the block Soul Plates have hosted their first singles supper club. Next one, September. Follow them here.
Every week I’ll be tempting you with where your next meal out could be - one in London, one in the UK, and one beyond. All places I want to try, but haven’t yet.
I would love for you to subscribe (button below), so we can enjoy these places together. And if you have got any tips of your own, I’d love to hear them.
